Retin A, a drug developed to treat retinal degeneration, is one of the first treatments to be developed to tackle the disease.
It is also one of its priciest, costing $300,000 for the two-week course.

This retin treatment is still in development and needs to be evaluated in a larger, randomized clinical trial, Dr. Grevman said.
